Memories of Murder (Bong Joon ho, 2003)
What's it about? Two cops become obsessed with solving a serial killer case in South Korea.
Is it any good? Fans of David Fincher's Zodiac will like this. It's a very good police procedural/serial killer film, with excellent photography, charismatic leads and a nice streak of black humour. Zodiac probably has better characterisation and has more sustained suspense, but this has much better interrogation-by-flying-kung-fu-kick sequences.
I don't trust you. What do others think? A lot of love for it across the world. Quentin Tarantino rates it one of the best movies of the last 20 years.
Anything else I should know? Based on a real-life case, in which the killer was never found. So make sure to check under your bed before you go to sleep. Just in case, like..
What does the Fonz think? Very good.
