Easy A (Will Gluck, 2010)

What's it about? High-school virgin Olive (Emma Stone) plays along with a rumour that she is a bit of a slut, but it spreads faster than she can control.

Is it any good? A smart and funny updating of the 80s teen movie (John Hughes movies get several nods) and classic novel The Scarlet Letter, although it fizzles out a little towards the end. Emma Stone is an absolute delight in the central role, with great input from the supporting cast. I think when I grow up I'll be a cool dad like Stanley Tucci.

Anything else I should know? Stone dropped out of Sucker Punch to do this movie. Smart girl.

What does the Fonz think? Not quite as good as the likes of Heathers and Mean Girls, but still good fun.
