Dumbo (S. Armstrong & N.Ferguson, 1941)

Disney's Dumbo Image
What's that? Speak up!

What's it about? Dumbo the baby elephant is ridiculed for his unusually large ears, but then he discovers they make him very special indeed.

Is it any good? Packs a terrific amount into a mere 61 mins. It's fun and involving and has great musical sequences, not least the psychedelic Pink Elephants on Parade sequence. And it also teaches us that sometimes you need to get pissed to unlock your hidden potential. And that is an excellent lesson for everyone, particularly children

I don't trust you. What do others think? Everybody loves Dumbo. Except my wife. But she's mad. Good job she's locked in the attic.

Anything else I should know? Useless trivia alert! Dumbo is the only title character in all of Disney's films who never utters a single word.

What does the Fonz think? Who couldn't love the little fella? Two thumbs up.
